Product Care Instruction
Care Instructions for 8/8-18/10 Stainless Steel
DIN X 5 Cr Ni 17-20 8,5-10 AISI 304, BS 304S15
Material: The widely used alloy-based stainless steel comprises 18% chromium & 8-10% nickel. It is a highly durable form of steel and a great insulator that makes it extremely corrosion resistant.
Properties: Non-magnetic properties make it an excellent material for cold deep drawing/presswork e.g., gastronorm pans. It is also exceptionally hygienic, non-toxic, sterilisable, recyclable and polished.
Damage cases: In case of prolonged contact with chlorides, acids, e.g., salt and fruit acids pitting may occur. Also, discolouration may occur above 400°C, and it can get damaged above 600°C. Clean the food deposits immediately or it will affect the surface of the cutlery.
Washing & Care: It is recommended for dishwasher or manual washing with mild liquid soap. Surface rust ( if it arises) may be cleaned with any stainless steel cleaning cream. Limescale/ calcium deposits can be removed with descaling products. It is recommended to never put hot cutlery straight into cold water to avoid thermal shock.
Store: Dry all the items immediately after washing or taking them out from the dishwasher and store away to avoid watermarks.
18/0 Stainless steel
AISI 430 BS430S17 X 6 Cr 17 EN 1.4016
Material: The material is excellent for hardening; therefore, it is best used in manufacturing cutlery, can openers, cutting tools etc. Also suitable for people with nickel allergies.
Properties: This stainless steel grade requires careful maintenance to keep the cutlery rust-proof, long-lasting, hygienic and non-toxic. The material is magnetic and heat resistant, just like 18/10 stainless steel; however, it is less resistant to chemicals.
Washing & Care: Recommended for dishwasher or manual cleaning with a mild liquid soap. Wash immediately after use to avoid food deposits spoiling the surface. Less sturdy than 18/8-18/10 stainless steel, therefore NOT recommended for washing with steel wool or metal scourer.
Store: Dry all the items immediately after washing or taking them out from the dishwasher and store away to avoid watermarks.
